Toklat - He's a Mackenzie River Husky

This dog Toklat was immensely large.  He was the dog of a neighbor of mine.  Just LOVE this dog! He's MacKenzie River Husky!

The Eyes Have It!

I'm pretty good at eyes! They are the window into the soul and I think that these puppies have GREAT souls. Here they are for your enjoyment!

Here are more of my drawings for your enjoyment ...

Peter's Sweet Lead Dog - Ft. Yukon, Alaska 1978

This dog was photographed in Ft. Yukon, Alaska while my first husband was working there as an Alaska State Trooper.  As I was preparing to take a photo of this dog - he was just in the middle of a stretch and I said outloud - darn - I wish he would stretch again so I could get a pic of him.  He DID!  I was so surprised!!  And I snapped a great photo of him.  I have downloaded a rough photo of that drawing I did.

This drawing got me the reserve champion at the Tanana Valley Fair in Fairbanks, Alaska in 1979.  This is also one of the few drawings I've done of the WHOLE DOG.

I remember him so fondly and that day snapping photos of him.

tishasmilingtalking.jpg

This is a photo I snapped of Tisha on Skip's lap - she was so happy to be there.  Actually, Alaskan Malamutes are BIG LAP DOGS - she proved it quite often.  I really loved this dog and she was more loyal than the males that would just run off.  Her bottom teeth may look rather sharp - but that's just her way of smiling!  I hope you enjoy her talking to you...

This puppy Tisha is about 4 months old and is hopeful to receive a doggy biscuit!  Will you give her one?  I'm sure I did after I got that look from her face and was done snapping away.

Enjoy the Art and I hope it takes you 'there'.
